05/25/2014 16:00 hrs. Patchogue Motorized Glider in tree
At approx. 16:00 hrs., a man operating a motorized glider crash landed into a group of trees located at 314 Conklin Ave. Patchogue, NY, on Long Islands south shore. The Patchogue F.D. and SCPD's 5th Pct. & ESU responded to the scene. The gliders operator was suspended in the thick stand of trees for about an hour and a half until rescuers were able to retrieve him after using chain-saws to cut through the thick branches. Multiple departments responded as well as the Brookhaven Technical Rescue Task Force.
